'Chennai Express' game comes to mobile phone

Huge crowds flocked to Reliance Digital Xpress, a tech-solutions store in Prabhadevi, during the roll-out of Chennai Express's mobile game. Present at the launch were SRK and director Rohit Shetty,  who showed off their jaw-dropping gaming skills during the launch.

In the game, one takes the role of Shahrukh's character in the flick and goes on a thrilling adventure, where he struggles and fights his way out. He has to smack down a group of thugs from Chennai while clearing off obstacles like buses, cars, trucks, coconut carts and more.

As a bonus, players can unlock a  lungi-clad Tamilian avatar of Deepika Pdikone. The iOS version of the game will be rolled-out around 9th of August 9.

The actor said, "To capture a movie in a game format is one of the most difficult and creatively challenging things to do. The movie has a vision and a theme, which a game needs to carry forward. This game captures the theme, the graphics and the mood of the movie brilliantly. I'm glad we have brought a game that people will find engrossing and easy to be a part of. I had a lot of fun being a part of the process of making this game."

He also talked about he games that were played on the set by the unit, adding, "We played lots of games, including truth and dare, of course, I will not tell you the details. We also played a Bollywood version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. Rohit and his team kept bringing new games for us to play. We played cricket next to the railway tracks where we were shooting. We even played cricket outside our hotel in the rain."

Rohit Shetty added, "Games have become serious business. I am glad we have been able to make Chennai Express a part of the gaming world."
