Nokia's move to compete with Samsung

The two biggest names of mobile manufacturing companies in India are Nokia and Samsung. They are the two most leading brands in the market. These two companies are doing their best to compete with each other by introducing many new mobiles with different features and of different prices. Many researches says that today If we look carefully the mobile market, Samsung mobiles’ sale has increased a lot and is the highest selling mobile brand. This crown once belonged to Nokia and remained with it for a very long time. Let us find different reasons as to why Nokia lost its faith among the users.

  • Nokia was the first company in India which introduced their first the smart phone in the market long back in 2002 but unfortunately they moved very slowly. Initial success of Symbian Series 60 was a huge hit, but soon it started facing troubles to maintain the top position. The definition of smart phones was changed by Apple when it launched its iPhone. Nokia failed to respond to the shifting demand towards iPhone. The Symbian operating system really seemed back dated after the introduction of iOS and Android. Samsung on the other hand acted very smartly and grabbed the opportunity which they were looking for. They introduced many smart phones in the market with Android operating system. As Apple phones were relatively expensive, people started buying Samsung smart phones. Soon Nokia started losing customers.
  • Android technology became very successful, whereas on the other hand Windows phone did not pay off yet. Until Nokia’s recent partnership with Microsoft, Nokia concentrated on Symbian only and that harmed their sales a lot.
  • Clearly, Nokia lost its place in high end smart phones market to Samsung. But Nokia lost its position in low end phones as well to HTC, Huawei and other companies. So, they were getting hurt from both ends.
  • Nokia once developed the best technologies but in developing markets, newest, shiniest and compact devices are the things that are in demand. Now Nokia has introduced Windows phones in market which is a very late response by such a big name like Nokia.
  • Smart phones are the devices that have made Samsung so famous in the mobile phone market. Now, people are searching for the latest inventions from only two companies- Apple and Samsung. Apple is not worried about the price as it has its own set of consumers. Whereas, because of affordable price, the sale of Samsung smart phones has increased undoubtedly.

Advantage of using Nokia phones: Nokia is well known for its durability and quality phones from many years. We all know that mobile phones from this company are user friendly and features are too easy to handle. This is the company that made it possible for normal people to buy mobile phones. Though, for some time, they lost the earlier track records but now they are trying to come back. Nokia has also introduced new smart phones having Windows OS like Lumia. There are some other famous models like N97, N8, N95, X6 and so on. New generation touch screen features are now available from Nokia. Nokia has launched recently Preview 808 with revolutionary camera technology. Having 41mp camera in a mobile is something which is not usual.
This is why; those who love this mobile brand should not lose hope because they are trying to capture the market again with new Windows phones.
